Erinnert ihr euch noch an Wing Commander: Saga, der Mod für Conquest - Frontier Wars? Das Team beendete vor etwa 12 Monaten das Projekt, da Conquest einfach zu schwer zu modden war. Man wollte jedoch nicht aufgeben und hoffte auf das ähnliche Spiel Hegemonia.Nun ist es soweit, Hegemonia wurde vor einigen Wochen released und wir hoffen darauf das sich das Team entschliest dieses Spiel zu modden.
Do you remember Wing Commander: Saga, the mod for Conquest - Frontier Wars? The team canceled the project about 12 months ago, because it was too dificult to mod the game. The team decided to wait for Hegemonia another similar game.
Now the time has come, Hegemonia has been released several weeks ago and we are looking forward ir the team decides to continue their work.

Wing Commander GBA Updates
Hier besteht wohl noch ein wenig Nachholbedarf :).Es wurde bekannt, dass sich Take 2 die Rechte an Wing Commander Prophecy für den GBA gesichert hat. Laut ihren Angaben werden sie es in Deutschland veröffentlichen.
Gleichzeitig dazu habe ich mal EA in Deutschland gefragt, ob sie ein genaues Datum für Deutschland haben. Sie haben wohl noch kein Datum ins Auge gefasst.

Take 2 has announcend, that they will have the rights to publish WCP GBA in Germany.
At the same time, I asked EA Germany, if they got a specific release date, but they say, that they don't know yet, if it will be released.

WC Revival comeback
Ein kleines Comeback wurde völlig unter den Tisch gekehrt:Seit einiger Zeit ist die Ur-Petition WC Revival wieder online, aber nicht mehr als Petition. Mittlerweile konzentriert sich WC Revival auf die technische Seite von Wing Commander, so arbeitet auch HCl an diesem Projekt mit. Quasi ist dies die Ersatzseite für das WCDC.

Since some days, the Petition-site itself called WC Revival is back online, but not as petition. The new site concentrates on the technical site of Wing Commander. This is the reason, why HCl is working at this site, too. It's some sort of new WCDC.

Freelancer Bewertung
Freelancer ist schon seit dem 04. März in den amerikanischen Läden erhältlich und mittlerweile haben einige Magazine schon ihre Bewertungen abgegeben. Die grundsätzliche Stimmung ist sehr gut und Freelancer bekommt durchweg gute Bewertung.Freelancer is available in the American shops since March the fourth and meanwhile some magazines already delivered their evaluations. The fundamental tendency is very good and Freelancer always gets a good summary.

Feels like the old Wing Commander
Die deutsche Spielezeitschrift "Gamestar" schrieb über den neuen "Thronfolger" Freelancer. Es war nicht überraschend, dass sie dem Spiel eine satte 90% Wertung gaben (das ist fast so viel wie Wing Commander 4 mit 96% damals bekam! Quelle: PC-Games) und lediglich die ähnlichen Kampfmissionen und den fehlenden echten Multiplayer Modus zu bemängeln hatten. In ihrem Video-Special zogen sie auch parallelen zu Elite, Privateer und Wing Commander. So sagten sie dass das Freelancer erstmals wieder eine Atmosphäre wie die alten Wing Commander Spiele haben.The german PC-Newspaper "Gamestar" wrote about the new "successor to the throne" (thats hwo they called Freelancer). It was no surprise that they gave a rating of 90 percent (thats nearly as much as Wing Commander 4 got with 96%, source: PC-Games). There were only few negative aspects like the missing real multiplayer part and the similar missions. They made a video-special too and they compared the game to Elite, Privateer and Wing Commander. They said that Freelancer has such a good gaming athmosphere and such a good story like the old Wing Commander games

New Alpha Version
Wir haben neulich eine neue, überarbeitete Alpha Version von WC: Saga - Battlegroup Serpent bekommen. Seid also auf ein neues Special und einige neue Screenshots gespannt!Vor allem die neuen Waffen werden zu sehen sein!

Several updates...
HCl hat in den letzten Tagen und Wochen mehrere Patches raus gebracht. Unter anderem ein Patch für seinen Wing Commander Prophecy High-Res Patch und eine neue Version seines Movie Viewers(jetzt 1.2a). Derzeit arbeitet er an einem WC1 High-Res Patch.HCl released several new patches in the last few days and weeks. He also released a new Patch for his Wing Commander Prophecy High-Res Patch and a new Version of his Movie Viewer (now 1.2a). He's also currently working on a WC1 High-Res patch

Verschoben: Freelancer (dt.)
Wie die Fansite Freelancerfan.de meldet, erscheint die deutschsprachige Version des 3D-Weltraum-Simulation Freelancer erst am 8. Mai 2003. Grund für die Verschiebung seien Schwierigkeiten mit der Lokalisation - als Trostpflaster soll der Patch auf Version 1.1 bereits implementiert sein.Bislang gilt der 18. April als Erscheinungstermin des Spiels.
The German Fansite Freelancerfan.de announces, that the german version of Freelancer will be released on may the 8th. Originally, the game should be released in april the 18th. The reasons for this delay are problems with the localization. Because of this, Microsoft says, that they will include the patch 1.1 in this version.

Wc: Saga battlegroup Serpent
Seit einigen Wochen gab es schon nichts mehr neues von der Mod. Nun wurde endlich wieder etwas veröffentlicht:Das Team ist erneut gewachsen! Rendar und Bob McDob! Rendar ist ein sehr fähiger CGI-Artist und Bob McDob kennt sich mit der Technik hinter Freespace sehr gut aus. Hier seht ihr eine von Rendars Arbeiten.
Auch sonst gibt es Fortschritt zu berichten! Das Team hat nun Mission 1A debugged und sie scheint nun fertig zu sein. Auch die Behemoth Mission aus Wing Commander 3 wurde neu geschrieben. Ebenso sind die Schiffe, welche beim letzten News-post erwähnt wurde nun Ingame zu bewundern.
Since weeks we haven't heard anything from the mod team. Now they reported some progress again:
Their team grew again! Rendar and Bob McDob. Rendar is a very skilled CGI-Artist and Bob is their new technical advisor. Here, is an example of Rendars work.
There is even progress in mission programming! The team managed to get Mission 1A debugged and they rewrote the behemoth mission from Wing Commander 3! They also imported some ships shown in the last news post so it's now possible to see them ingame!
