WingCenter 2K3 arrives!

Nach der gestrigen Ankündigung kommt nun die Überraschung:
Wir haben zwei Wochen geackert um euch eine völlig überarbeitete Version des WingCenter zu präsentieren. Mit der neuen Version wird auch gleichzeitig ein Konzeptwechsel angestrebt:
Arrow, Tolwyn und ich berichten nun nicht mehr nur über Wing Commander und die Fanprojekte, sondern über das ganze Spacesim Genre =). Natürlich bleibt unser Schwerpunkt weiterhin die Wing Commander Fanprojekte zu unmterstützen.

Mit WingCenter 2K3 haben wir übrigens auch einen eigenen Shop eingeführt. Falls ihr also was bei Amazon bestellt, tut dies doch bitte über unsere Links. Damit unterstützt ihr uns finanziell, was derzeit sehr wichtig ist.

After the announcement of yesterday, the surprise is coming:
We worked two weeks to present a brand new Version of the WingCenter. Wit this new version, there is also a slight change of the original concept:
Arrow, Tolwyn an me aren't reporting of just Wing Commander, now we're reporting of the whole SpaceSim Genre. Of course, we will support the Fanprojects more than the other games ;).

Along with WingCenter 2K3 we introduce our shop. If you're willing to buy something, than please do it with our shop. You're supporting us in a financial way and that's very important in these times :).

Freelancer requires...

Unsere Partner von Lancer's Reactor haben gestern aktualisierte Systemvorraussetzungen veröffentlicht. Mittlerweile benötigt das Spiel die Installation von DirectX 8.2, welches allerdings automatisch mitinstalliert wird, falls man es noch nicht installiert hat.

Our partner Lancer's Reactor has published new and actualized s system requirements. Now, the game requires the installation of DirectX 8.2, which will be automatically installed, if it is not installed.

Freelancer Preview at GamesDomain

Freelancer wird im März erscheinen (US Release). Dies scheint mittlerweile mehr als bestätigt und die Previews häufen sich. Heute hat GamesDomain ein englischsprachiges Preview verfasst.

Freelancer will be released in march (US Release). This seems to be right and Digital Anvil seems to be able to handle this. And the Previews are getting more and more. Today, GamesDomain published an english Preview.

Shuttle Columbia Destroyed on Re-Entry

Es war ein trauriger Tag. Kurz nach 9:00am EST verlor NASA Kontakt zur Raumfähre Columbia. Kurze Zeit später wurden die Dampfspuren der Wrackteile über Dallas TX gesichtet. Sieben Menschen sind ums Leben gekommen, darunter der erste Israeli im Weltraum. Mögen ihre Seelen den Frieden finden.

It was a sad day. A little after 9:00am EST NASA lost contact with Space Shuttle Columbia. Shortly thereafter vapor trails of debris were spotted over Dallas TX. Seven people perished with the shuttle including the first Israeli in space. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the crew memebers.

Freelancer Teaser

Bei WorthPlaying ist heute ein neuer Freelancer Teaser erschienen. Der knapp einminütige Teaser zeigt einige GamePlay- und Cutsceneszenen. Mit 9 MB ist der Teaser nicht gerade groß.

Freelancer golden!

Fast schon historisch ist der Werdegang von Freelancer: Fünf Jahre Entwicklungszeit und eine schwere Firmenübergabe hat das Projekt überlebt und nun ist es endlich fertig: Freelancer wurde gestern als Gold deklariert...hooray =).
The way of Freelancer is almost historical: It survived five years of development and a hard transfer of the company but now, it is completed: Freelancer was declared gold yesterday...hooray =).

It's gold!

Freelancer Release (Update)

Nach all den Jahren Wartezeit wird das Spiel voraussichtlich früher erscheinen als erwartet. Nach dem was ich bei PC Fun in Erfahrung bringen konnte wird die deutsche Version des Spiel pünktlich am 6. und die englische am 10. März in den deutschen Läden stehen. Wir halten euch auf dem Laufenden.
Freelancer will be presumably released earlier than anticipated. According to my information I gathered by PC Fun the game will be shipped to stores soon. The German version will be available on the 6th and the English on the 10th March in the German stores. We'll keep you informed.

BG Serpent: the new Screenshots

BG Serpent ist auf dem besten Weg zum nächsten Alpha Release (welchen wir testen werden).
In den Screenshots unten seht ihr die neuesten Modelle (Dragon, Excalibur, Concordia Klasse, Ranger Klasse, Vesuvius Klasse). Die anderen beiden Screenshots zeigen die erste Mission der Demo, welche derzeit im Beta-Stadium ist. Dennoch ist noch einiges zu tun. Es fehlen noch einige Schild-Animationen, Hintergrundbilder, Menübilder und Icons.



The mod BG Serpent is on its way to the next alpha release(and we will get this release!).
Below you can see the newest modells (Dragon, Excalibur, Concordia Class, Ranger Class and Vesuvius Class). The other ones show the first mission of their demo-version.
Nevertheless, there is still a lot of work to do. Several shildanimations, icons and weapons selection screens are missing.

Deutsche Freelancer Seite

Die Deutschen dürfen sich nochmals freuen: Die offizielle deutsche Seite zu Freelancer ist nun online gegangen. Das deutsche Pendant zur amerikanischen Seite ist genau gleich aufgebaut und beinhaltete auch die gleichen Informationen. Ledigilich das deutsche "Neutral Net" hinkt noch hinter dem Amerikanischem her.
The Germans can be happy again: the official german homepage of Freelancer went online. The german pendant to the american site is build exactly in the same way and includes the same information too.
The only thing different is the german "Neutral Net", which isn't quite as actual as the american version.

Unsere Partnerseite Lancer's Reactor hat heute ein besonderes Leckerbissen für alle Freelancer Wartende:

Insgesamt sechs Musikstücke, drei aus der Bar, drei aus den Grenzwelten, wurden nun zum Download bereitgestellt. Die, im mp3 Format hausierenden, Musikstücke sind in zwei Zip Dateien aufgeteilt: Bar music & Border World music.
Our partnersite Lancer's Reactor has a special suprise for all Freelancer waiters:

Overall six pieces of music, three from bar-scenes, three from the Border Worlds, were just being uploaded for download. The, in mp3 format compressed, music-pieces are divided into two Zip files: Bar music & Border World music.

X2 is moving...

Ein weiterer Hoffnungsträger im Weltraum-Simulationsgenre ist X² von Egosoft. Heute hat die Webseite der PC Games jede Menge neue Screenshots bekommen, die erstmals auch die neuen Cockpits zeigen. Genau wie in X, wird man sich in den Cockpits frei bewegen können.
Weiterhin gibt es auch neue, kleinere Infos zum GamePlay. So wird der Plot des Spiels wohl weitgehend auf Planeten stattfinden.
The other hopeful game in the Space-Sim Genre is X² from Egosoft. Today, the Website of PC Games got a few new screenies, which are showing the new cockpits! Like in X, you will be able to turn and move freely inside these cockpits.
There is a new detail of gameplay too: The main plot will be told on planet-surfaces.

Microsoft hat eine Freelancer-Demoversion veröffentlicht. Die Demo dieser großartigen Weltraumsimulation enthält 'The Liberty System of Manhattan'. Zum Download gelangt ihr über den unten stehenden Link.
Wichtig: Dise Demo ist nur für die FilePlanet Mitglieder verfügbar. Ihr werdet während der Installation ein "activation key" erhalten. Ihr könnt ohne diesen "Schlüssel" das Spiel nicht starten.
